The Waivz are a live music duo from Melbourne’s Bayside, blending smooth harmonies, classic hits, and coastal vibes. Connie Leander (vocals/guitar) and Mathew Petraitis (cajón & drums/vocals) began performing on Aspendale Beach and have since brought their unique sound to venues and private events across the region.
With a mix of live instruments, high-quality backing tracks, and a dance-friendly setlist from the ‘70s to today, The Waivz create a full, feel-good experience. Their shows often invite the crowd to join in with percussion instruments, adding an interactive and playful vibe. Whether it’s a laid-back afternoon or a high-energy celebration, The Waivz bring music that gets people moving and feeling good.

Connie Leander
Vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Connie Leander is known for her warm stage presence and heartfelt performances. Blending classic hits with authentic storytelling, she brings energy and connection to every performance. With a passion for making people feel good through music, Connie thrives on the joy of shared moments, leaving audiences smiling, singing, and dancing.

Mathew Petraitis
Mathew Petraitis is the heartbeat of The Waivz, providing dynamic rhythm and groove as both a drummer and cajón player. With an eclectic taste that ranges from punk to indie rock, pop, country, and folk, Mathew brings a unique edge to their sound. Beyond percussion, he also contributes backing vocals and occasional lead vocals, adding depth and harmony to the duo’s performances.
